Projects and cooperative partners
The content of Lauhavuoriregion.fi has been produced in two separate projects. A virtual guide for the customer service network of the nature tourism area of Lauhanvuori-Hämeenkangas, and its geological contents were drawn up for the Lauhanvuori and the Kauhaneva-Pohjankangas national parks and the Hämeenkangas exercise and multi-purpose area. The project, which was implemented in 2014, is administered by Metsähallitus and it was funded by EAFRD through the ELY Centres of Satakunta and South Ostrobothnia. The municipalities of the area also took part in the funding. The main goal was produce a geology-focused presentation package of the nature sites of the area.
The Lauhanvuori Region Geopark project involves the mobile optimisation of the virtual guide and the contents have been modified to cover the nature sites of the geopark project area more extensively. In addition, the operations of the virtual guides were supplemented. The project is administered by Pohjois-Satakunnan Kehittämiskeskus Oy ("North Satakunta Development Centre") and the City of Kankaanpää. The project has been funded by the ELY Centres of Satakunta and South Ostrobothnia (EAFRD), the nine municipalities in the region, as well as Metsähallitus and the Natural Resources Institute. The project was carried out in 2016-2018.
