The Aspiring Geopark attended the Trout day

The Lauhanvuori-Hämeenkangas Aspiring Geopark attended the Trout day event in Isojoki arranged by the The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation. A lecture of the geology of the Isojoki and Karvianjoki river areas was given by geologist Pasi Talvitie. Other lecturers included representants of Finnish Environmental Institute, The Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, Pro Agria, World Wildlife Fund and the Forest Centre.

The Trout day event was held in Isojoki for the sixth time. The theme of this year concentrated on how to improve the living conditions of the trout in small streams. There is an ongoing national Freshabit LIFE project coordinated by Metsähallitus working in this field also.
