The Raatosulkonneva mire of Alkkianvuori (Alkkianvuori)

The Raatosulkonneva mire is situated on the slope of Alkkianvuori hill. It is partly open and partly pine-clad. There is a lush spruce mire in the lower part of the mire. Raatosulkonneva gets a large part of its water from the surrounding mineral land as surface runoff, which is why it is more nutrient-rich than the raised bogs typical of the area. The abundance of juniper in the more forested parts of the mire suggests a higher nutrient content.
