Katselmankallio - a view to Haapakeidas (Haapakeidas)

Katselmankallio is a low granitic hill on the southwestern side of the Haapakeidas mire complex. From the sighting tower, you can see a hint of the large Haapakeidas bog, which has a long settlement history. On a forested dry patch of land in the middle of the mire, there was a roadless outpost farm until the 1970s. In recent times, the buildings of the farm have been refurbished. It still remains a distant place, securely situated in the middle of one of the largest mires in the region.
