The eccentric raised bog of Huidankeidas (Haapakeidas)

The Huidankeidas bog is an eccentric bog. These usually develop on gently dipping surfaces, such as on the lower slopes of esker formations. At Huidankeidas, the surface morphology is particularly well-developed, with dry mossy pine clad ridges alternating with muddy hollows and abundant ponds. Because of the abundance on open water, Huidankeidas is particularly rich in birdlife.
