A calm lake reflecting the clouds

Kaivolammi is a little lake on the western slope of Lauhanvuori. It is partly surrounded by a little mire, and as such it is like a miniature version of lake Spitaalijärvi. North of the lake there are several fossil sand dunes in the pine forest. There is a campsite and a dry toilet by the lake. On the western side of the lake, there is a fence built for the Finnish forest reindeer reintroduction project, which aims to reintroduce this fine beast to local nature after an absence of over 100 years.
