Sinahmi used to be a large lake which has been lowered and developed into a very lush mire complex. Northern part is clearly more watery than the southern part, and there is a rich bird population with a lot of waders. Great raptors can be seen in the area, e.g. Eurasian Eagle Owl, Northern Hen Harrier and Short-eared Owl. Elks are eating in the are in the summer. (Photo: Kristiina Peltomaa)
